Canon HD Camera System          

The Canon HD Camera System combines a 2.39MP Full HD CMOS sensor, a 20x optical zoom Canon HD Video Lens and the DIGIC DV III processor to deliver superb Full HD movies.

Relay recording               

When the built-in memory becomes full, the camcorder automatically switches to SD cards as the recording media. No need to worry about missing the action when media is switched.

Down-conversion to standard definition

(convert HD to SD)         

Convert HD videos to Standard definition (SD) directly from the camcorder itself. The resulting SD videos can be burned directly to DVD or uploaded to the internet.

Smart Auto mode           

The camcorder automatically recognizes what kind of scenes and subjects you're shooting based on the presence of people, the distance to subjects, and brightness, colour, motion information. The advanced auto shooting mode function entrust detailed settings to the camcorder, similar to the shooting modes already available in Canon's range of PowerShot & Digital IXUS cameras.

Video snapshot mode recording duration

Each time the Record button is pressed, a 4 seconds clip is captured. Simply add your clips to a playlist, select a soundtrack, and you're instantly ready to watch your movie on a TV - no need for editing. New video snapshot recording length of 2, 4, or 8 seconds has been added to the video snapshot mode.

Colour options 

DIGIC DV III supports x.v.Colour - for deeper, richer hues when movies are played back on compatible HD TVs. 25p Cinema Mode matches the look of traditional film, and provides enhanced low-light shooting performance.

Still shooting

A dedicated Photo mode allows users to capture high resolution still images, up to 1.73MP. Still images can also be captured during movie playback.

Software            

For simple editing and sharing, PIXELATMsoftware is supplied. DVDs are easy to burn at the touch a button with Canon's DW-100 DVD Burner (available separately). New PIXELATM software allows direct to web video uploading, allowing users to share video online easily.
